Plum Terrace Rose

Much as I love the color plum, I never imagined encountering a plum terrace. It works beautifully, though!

On the other hand, if you want to see a lovely plum rose, look for the Ebb Tide rose.
Ebb Tide is a floribunda with a clove scent. It looks great in the garden, but is not a long lasting cut flower. Sometimes that makes it even more special!

Purple Perches II

Receiving my fill of purple and plum for the week!

What a great place to have a party, with lots of deep purple providing the room's accent color to complement the original pine paneling.

Lush plum velvet on the chaise lounge
and a Fornasetti cabinet add fun to the room.

Amethyst spreads itself out on these comfy couches.

Isn't this French antique settee a gorgeous color?
(Trish from Trouvais has a lovely sense of color.)

Aaahhh- to dream...

Purple Perches

Lately I have been noticing lots of purple, the new neutral?

Especially covering a comfy couch, it looks great paired with white, cream, taupe and greige.

Love it with jolts of red and lavender.

This lush purple velvet-covered chair
looks perfect for burrowing into with a good book.

Would you do purple?

Color Code

Loving the purple and cream damask pillow in front of the well-worn canvas.  You wonder what rooms that canvas has seen...

These fabulous columns and doors play host to a classic chair with a funky fabric. Combining the unexpected...

Orange and purple, organic and sleek...together they make a fun vignette with the art pieces.

What combinations do you like?

Stop by tomorrow for my giveaway details!

Plum purple

Right now, I am finding the sludgy plums and purples a soothing, cozy palette. Combined with clean, soft greens (think teal and celadon) and popped with the trendy greiges, they can provide the warmth needed on cold, snowy days.

I tend to use plum and purple as an accent color rather than filling the whole room.

Can you do purple?
