Somehow this new structure in Belgium, built by Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh, seems a fitting tribute to those that were lost in the attacks on the U.S. on September 11, 2001.
The see-through church is in the Belgian region of Haspengouw, and is part of the Z-OUT project of Z33, house for contemporary art.The church stands 10 meters high and is made of 100 layers and 2000 columns of steel.
The concept of the traditional church is transformed into a transparent object of art, one that encourages reflection and peace in this crazy world of ours.
The church opens on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
