Hidden in Plain Sight

Check out the typography and art of Sasha Prood- presented in watercolor.
I recently ran across her works and was blown away by Sasha's sense of color and perfect imperfection.

How does she get the lettering so perfect?

Living in a small Brooklyn studio full of inspiring plants, she works the natural right into her illustrations and graphics.

"I see 'art' everywhere - it is often hidden in plain sight. For me, art is everything from logos to packaging to signage to museum pieces - it does not just transform our world, it is one of the building blocks."*

Using pencil, pen, and watercolor along with the computer, Sasha's love for plants and botany is evident in her detailed illustrations.

Black & White All Over

Today I am in a black and white, graphic sort of mood.
There are so many ways you can go with this...

A striking black and white plaster design on a wall in Naples...

Seriously elegant black paneling with a touch of gold...

or an all-out embellishment of gold to highlight the (charcoal) black doors and walls...

A contemporary room with a funky, aged wall finish in various tones of black and white and greige...

...heading all the way down to the floor with this oversize damask-like pattern.

For some fabulous floor ideas, many in black and white, visit Design Sponge's Best of Patterned Floors here.

Do you have black and white anywhere in your own home?
