These walls gives new meaning to bricks of silver:
I find it a clever way of incorporating a metallic finish on what would usually be considered boring walls. A topcoat of varnish would be a good protective layer and the leaf could also be glazed for added interest.
What do you think of the silver bricks?

Love it! I'm wondering - do you think if it was varnished it could hold up functioning as the back wall behind a stove?
ReplyDeletevery striking!

Thanks everyone! Wish I could say I did it!
ReplyDeleteMichele- I do think you could use this finish behind the stove as long as the right varnish is used. I would first make up a sample and place it behind the stove for a month and evaluate how it holds up with the required cleaning.
Lisa- It never even occurred to me that it might be wallpaper! For this finish, I would use aluminum leaf (silver leaf would tarnish very quickly) and glaze and varnish. Really, no more than a wallpaper would be but, yes, more than just paint.
good
