An Elephant Swims

How about an elephant swimming? Above you.

Isn't this an outstanding mural?

The elephant swims on a bathroom ceiling in the Teaching Hotel Chateau Bethlehem in Maastricht, Netherlands. The 26 bedroom hotel, part of Zuyd University's Hotel Management School, is run by the students, an opportunity where they can gain practical hospitality experience in a unique training environment. The Hotel is a transformed 13th century castle with a restaurant, bar and conference rooms, besides the 26 guest rooms.

The hotel's creative learning environment is, in part, due to a collaborative effort of top Dutch designers, architects and artists. Each guest room is different, designed by notables such as Piet Hein Eek and Studio Job. Richard Hutten designed this cool mural. (He seems to have a preference for elephants in design.)

The detail is stunning, the colors just so... blue.
