Plum Pretty

Enjoy the late summer day!

source unknown

Even with most folks back to work or school, it sure is nice to come home at the end of the day and have the lovely weather greet us. I don't know about you, but I am harvesting away right now. The tomatoes are in full force, the carrots are plumping out (first time growing for me) and the broccoli is sending out its side shoots.

What are you harvesting this week in your garden?

  1. How lovely to harvest your own produce! Next year, I hope to have a little container garden on my balcony.
I love that image...these little plums were a favorite of my Grandmother's. Thanks for the memory!

A lovely day to you, and happy eating!

  2. What a beautiful image Annie. I can imagine how tasty those carrots must be, I don't remember the taste anymore since all we eat is from the store :(. I've had lots of sherry tomatoes this season because of a friend of mine and the taste doesn't compare to the store ones, even my husband and son eat them and they don't like tomatoes. For some reason my lavender is blooming again, weird, so I will be picking it up this week for sure.

  4. What a great picture Ann! We haven't managed to keep up with our broccoli! but the tomatoes took a battering in the hailstorm last week.

  6. Love the photo. Gardening is so relaxing after a long day! There's nothing like fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the garden.

  8. I too am enjoying gardening therapy at the end of the working day. With the break in the drought, there is an abundance of juicy citrus in the garden from which I’m making marmalade. Delish! The ruby chard is growing like a triffid, the lettuces need to be picked and the rest of the vegetable patch is being prepared for Spring planting. Warm wishes.
